Knee with Arthritis
Does anyone have experience of having a knee replacement due to arthritis when in your forties, or know of another option?

My partner has been told that her arthritis in the knee can only be dealt with by a replacement. She is not keen on this option as she is still only in her forties. Do you have any experience or comments on this situation ?

One person’s answer…. my mom had her knee replaced when she was 50. Shes had bad arthritis for about 30 years previous to that, and after multiple reconstruction surgeries, a replacement was her last option. She was concerned that the knee replacement would have to be replaced again in a number of years. She talked with her orthopedist, and was told that in about 20 years or so would have to have the plastic parts replaced, but the metal does not
